Research Engineer, Performance and Capacity Responsibilities:
Explore and develop novel solutions to scale the largest web capacity in the world: work with Services, Product, Data, and Infrastructure teams to scale the data center infrastructure including tens of billions of user requests, hundreds of petabytes of data, and thousands of gbps of network flow.
Perform research and make recommendations aimed at tackling state-of-the-art hardware and software performance issues (e.g. optimize hardware and software architectures, improve product/service performance, reduce resource consumption and shorten request latency, etc.).
Develop machine learning based and artificial intelligence based algorithms to improve resource management for planet wide datacenter fleets.
Provide deep visibility into Meta products and services: Run capacity and performance experiments to determine scaling and utilization parameters for various service tiers.
Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Analytics, Mathematics, Physics, Applied Sciences, or a related field.
Requires completion of a graduate-level course, research project, or internship involving the following:
- Unix or Linux
- C++, Java, JavaScript, or PHP, AND
- Software Integration and release management.
Public Compensation:
$214,032/year to $240,240/year + bonus + equity + benefits
