Meta Software Engineer - Camera Algorithms - Reality Labs in New York, New York

Required Skills:

Software Engineer - Camera Algorithms - Reality Labs Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and optimize cutting-edge image processing algorithms based on research and exploration of industry and academic solutions.

  2. Design, code, review, and test camera related software algorithm features across all layers of the camera stack.

  3. Build custom solutions tailored to our specific AR computing platform, with implementations on GPU, DSP or Neural Cores.

  4. Work closely with the System Engineering Team, Hardware team, manufacturing partners and QA teams to deliver best in class products.

  5. Define long term roadmap and execute on long term projects via direct impact, delegation of work to other engineers and by building XFN alignment and communicating status.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  2. 6+ years of experience with development of software systems including HW Acceleration using GPUs such as OpenGL, Vulkan, OpenCL or Metal, and camera image processing

  3. 3+ years relevant experience building system software with an emphasis on images and/or video

  4. Experience developing and debugging in C/C++

  5. Experience leading large or complex projects, defined goals and delivered milestones by leading teams

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience in Image Processing or Computational Photography, in developing any of camera related algorithms such as low-light capture, HDR, Depth estimation, video stabilization, denoising, demosaicing

  2. Experience having successfully shipped features on consumer devices

  3. Experience working on the camera stack on Android or other mobile platforms

  4. Experience architecting and designing performant, highly optimized software for low-powered hardware in the domain of image and video processing

  5. Understanding of deep learning based methods for image quality improvements

  6. Experience developing Android Camera HAL implementations with experience in Camera HAL3

Public Compensation:

$85.10/hour to $251,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
