Meta Sensor Architect, Reality Labs in Redmond, Washington

Summary:

We’re looking to hire a sensor architect with specialized technical skills and background in image, depth, and other types of optical sensor development. Successful candidates will have previous experience driving architecture convergence on complex consumer electronics products, as well as experience with silicon definition, evaluation, and system-level understanding. This role will work collaboratively with experts in different fields to evaluate architecture tradeoffs and identify solutions for cutting-edge sensors that will help bridge the virtual and real worlds.

Sensor Architect, Reality Labs Responsibilities:

  1. Lead forward-looking technical efforts to research and architect novel image and depth sensors for AR/VR, while balancing system-level constraints on size, weight, power, and cost.

  2. Own the sensor process technology and sensor architecture roadmaps.

  3. Drive technology roadmaps of internal and external industrial and research partners to develop and scale critical sensor technologies

  4. Collaborate with other engineers and researchers across Meta to develop new concepts and technologies for next generation sensors that advance the state-of-the-art in AR/VR systems.

  5. Mentor other engineers and researchers on the team, provide direction and guidance to improve quality and depth of the engineering work in the broader team.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. M.S. or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering disciplines.

  2. 10+ years’ industry experience, directly contributing to development of CMOS image sensors

  3. Demonstrated experience in modeling CMOS image sensors using Cadence, TCAD, and other industry standard tools, as well as system modeling software such as Simulink and COMSOL.

  4. Proven understanding of state-of-the-art pixel architecture and tradeoffs between sensor KPIs.

  5. Familiarity with CFA, camera module optics and design, WFO, CSP, wire-bonding, and packaging.

  6. Familiarity with state-of-the-art fabrication technologies

  1. Experience in consumer AR/MR technology space

  2. Deep understanding of foundry processes, including latest process nodes, 3D stacking, etc.

  3. Experience with camera ISP and common digital signal processing techniques such as digital filtering, Fourier transform, and I/Q demodulation, etc.

  4. Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by patents and first-authored publications.

  5. Familiarity with the emerging Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality technologies.

  6. Demonstrated experience in cross-group and cross-culture collaboration.

  7. High levels of creativity and quick problem-solving skills.

Public Compensation:

$204,000/year to $281,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
