Mechanical Prototype Engineer Responsibilities:
Collaborate with industrial design, engineering, and research teams to resolve design challenges, create bespoke machined or printed parts, and help improve prototype processes.
Design, build, and take prototypes to increasing levels of fidelity.
Work with product-focused engineers to translate early prototypes into potential products.
Use hand sketches and computer-aided designs (CAD) to create 3D models according to established specifications.
Drive large-scale project work and establish achievable project loads for team members to achieve goals.
Focus on new technologies and ideate, improve, and unblock cross-functional partners and inform best designs.
Communicate and understand client needs, establish effective timelines, and execute to the required quality.
Leverage internal and external teams and manufacturing resources to expand the capability of the team and deliver on projects.
Design and finish concepts to a high-level of presentation quality.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or related field. Position requires completion of a university-level course, research project, internship, or thesis in each of the following:
Consumer electronics and product development
System-level design, including working with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Product Design, and Research
Computer-aided design (CAD) experience, including SolidWOrks, Creo, AutoCAD
Design original parts and working with a team in rehabilitation robotics and
Prototype development processes, including 3D printing, CNC machining, molding, casting, functional prototyping, electrical integration, and working models with aesthetic fit and finishes at a production-level appearance.
Public Compensation:
$178,460/year to $189,200/year + bonus + equity + benefits
