As a Machine Learning Research Scientist on the Monetization team at Meta, you can help build cutting-edge full-stack technologies that will transform the way people and businesses connect and communicate. You’ll help develop industry-leading solutions that power next-generation, large-scale platforms and AI services to help connect billions of people around the world.

Required Skills:

Research Scientist, Machine Learning (PhD) Responsibilities:

  1. Develop highly scalable algorithms based on Machine Learning and Neural Network methodologies.

  2. Suggest, collect, and synthesize requirements to create an effective feature roadmap.

  3. Apply knowledge of relevant research domains and coding skills to platform and framework development projects.

  4. Adapt Machine Learning and Neural Network algorithms to best exploit modern parallel environments (e.g. distributed clusters, GPUs, TPUs, etc.).

  5. Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners and contribute towards Meta's research product development.

  6. Lead and contribute to cutting-edge research that results in industry-leading tech demos and/or publications.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.

  2. Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a PhD degree in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.

  3. Experience with research and building systems based on Machine learning, Reinforcement Learning, and/or Deep Learning methods.

  4. Experience with Python, C++, or Java, and scripting languages such as Perl, Python, PHP, shell scripts, or similar.

  5. Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.

  1. Demonstrated research and software engineering experience via an internship, work experience, coding competitions, or widely used contributions in open source repositories (e.g. GitHub).

  2. Experience working and communicating cross-functionally in a team environment.

  3. Experience on Data Efficient Learning, domain adaptation, Semi-supervised Learning, etc.

  4. Exposure to architectural patterns of large scale software applications.

  5. Experience manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources.

  6. Experience solving complex problems and comparing alternative solutions, tradeoffs, and diverse points of view to determine a path forward.

  7. Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, as well as first-authored publications at leading workshops or conferences such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, AAAI, or similar.

Public Compensation:

$117,000/year to $173,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
