Meta Public Policy Associate Manager, Dangerous Organizations and Individuals Policy in Washington, District Of Columbia

Summary:

Meta is looking for an analytical thinker with proven communication and collaborative skills, and expertise on criminal organizations, to join the Dangerous Organizations and Individuals policy team. Our team works to prevent groups engaged in terrorism, organized criminal activity, or organized hate from maintaining a presence on our platforms. As a Policy Associate Manager, you will be collaborating with a talented and experienced team of subject matter experts to drive global policy and enforcement for the Meta family of applications. In this role you will act as our team’s subject matter expert on Criminal Organizations, including Criminal organizations engaged in scams, fraud, human exploitation, and illicit drug sales. You will create and manage projects, strategies, and processes to prevent those actors and their supporters from using our family of apps and you will engage with outside stakeholders. In addition, you will lead the team's efforts in identifying and mitigating risks around Dangerous Organizations and Individuals that attempt to abuse monetized and commerce products (eg: ads and other products that involve financial transactions) on our family of applications. The ideal candidate would have previous practical and/or academic experience with how criminal organizations and individuals leverage digital platforms for malicious and criminal purposes. In addition, a stand-out candidate would also have experience working on monetized or commerce digital products or surfaces. Previous experience working within Trust & Safety Operations or Policy teams to drive complex projects related to countering malicious actors on digital platforms, or experience in government, would be highly desirable.

Required Skills:

Public Policy Associate Manager, Dangerous Organizations and Individuals Policy Responsibilities:

  1. Refine and drive our team’s Criminal Organizations strategy.

  2. Partner with teams across the company to conceptualize and execute on projects to mitigate the risk of Criminal Organizations and their supporters using our platforms.

  3. Engage with external stakeholders on the risks associated with Criminal Organizations’ abuse of online spaces.

  4. Own the team’s strategy and execution to mitigate the risk of Dangerous Organizations abusing our monetized and commerce products.

  5. Independently and proactively identify opportunities to improve our Dangerous Organizations and Individuals policy and enforcement.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree

  2. 5+ years of experience working in government, academia, or private companies on the issue of countering organized crime.

  3. Successful record of driving and delivering complex cross-functional projects.

  1. Masters degree in public policy, law, political science, criminal justice or related field.

  2. Experience of working in government, academia, or private companies on the specific issue of countering organized crime’s abuse of online platforms.

  3. Experience working in Trust & Safety Policy or Operations teams focused on monetized or commerce surfaces.

  4. Experience with data analysis and querying to drive business strategy and decisions.

Public Compensation:

$119,000/year to $177,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
